VPN with the Perfect Privacy Android App

This documentation describes how to install and use the Perfect Privacy VPN App for Android. This App is based on the Strongswan App available in the Google Play Store. This documentation shows screenshots of Android 8.0 but the App works on any Android 5 or later.

On your Android device open the browser, go to the member download area and download the Perfect Privacy Android App.

You may need to allow Chrome to install Apps from unknown sources if you have not done so before. In that case you can go directly to the settings to change it.

To install the application you will need to allow it to access the SD card so it can load and save the configuration files.

Once installed, tap on Open to start the Perfect Privacy VPN App.

On first start, the App will automatically load the configuration and server list. Tap on the top right to open the menu and choose Set Login Credentials.

Enter your Perfect Privacy username and password and tap Save.

Now you can tap on any server to establish a VPN connection.

The first time you do this you will be asked to confirm that your traffic is now being sent through the VPN app.

Once connected you can send the VPN app into the background.

You can check that the VPN connection is working correctly by visiting the Check-IP website. Additionally, a key symbol will be shown in the Android status bar whenever a VPN connection is established.
